Koh Samui’s weather mainly features two seasons – sunny and rainy. The island’s typical sultry climate and year-round warm water are favourable for your next beach vacation. However, the best time to visit Koh Samui is without a doubt from the months of December through to June.
You can always visit Koh Samui during the off-season, however, there can be slight chances of heavy rain that may lead to possible torrential storms.

The rainy season in Samui is mainly from October through November. During these wetter months, you’ll see considerable rainfall in Koh Samui, with storms and flooding on occasions. When in May or June 2018 is the next water buffalo bull fighting? we want to book our holiday but want to not miss this !!
There are no scheduled times or dates that I am aware of. Sometimes it is difficult to pinpoint the date and time of the buffalo fighting; however, these fights usually take place at the many stadiums around Koh Samui in the evenings.
Typical of the small island culture, emails and phone numbers to find out this sort of information are not readily available. You are best to ask at your place of accommodation, as locals tend to have up to date information on where and when the fights will be scheduled.
As for price, this is variable depending on the stadium. Plan for between 100-200 Baht – however this is not set in stone.
You may find regular fights occurring along the North Coast (Bang Po Beach, Ban Tai) at Bang Makham.
