Top Koh Tao Attractions, Tourist Sites, Things To Do & Places To See & Visit

Mango Bay, named aptly for the many mango trees that once grew here, is a large bay endowed with a vibrant coral reef. Each of the sides of the bay has viewpoints from where visitors are invited to take in the views with a cold drink in hand. West of Mango Bay is teeming with schools of fish and is famous among divers. But on the east, a huge coral reef is teeming with many species of fish including moray eels, barracuda, damselfish, and much more.

Sairee Beach is the most famous of Koh Tao’s attractions for parties and nightlife. It’s situated on the island’s longest beach, making it a prime location for holiday goers. Sairee Beach is also where you can find the iconic Thai longtail boats that these islands are known for. Admire the views with a sunset drink in hand at one of the many laid-back establishments on the beach, and if you’re like to check out the nightlife, there are many bars to choose from.

For more remote and secluded attractions, a visit to Tanote Bay is highly recommended. The bay offers spectacular diving and several viewpoints. One of the best things about Tanote Bay is that it remains quiet throughout the year – even during peak seasons. Choose from accommodation that offers everything from budget to luxury, as Tanote Bay has something to offer everyone.

Lighthouse Beach is famous for its world-class scuba diving and snorkelling. It’s best known for its underwater shipwrecks from a small fishing boat, which sank in 2000. However, you’ll need to rent a longtail boat or kayak to get to Lighthouse Beach to visit for the day. It will be worth it, with crystal-clear waters and incredible marine life.

Other Koh Tao attractions that must not be missed include the Mango Viewpoint, Ao Thian Ok, Aow Leuk Beach, Chalok Baan Kao Beach, and Haad Tien Beach.
