Koh Samui Information

A long time ago, the majority of Koh Samui visitors were backpackers and rightfully so, the island was known as a Backpacker’s Haven. Gradually, the island grew to become a family-friendly travel destination and the choices of attractions and activities increased.

After the island was connected by air, it was rediscovered by many tourists who used to think this island was only a party lover’s paradise. Today, many families come here every single year to explore this beautiful island and its hidden secrets.

Koh Samui Information, Tourist Travel Guide, Visitor Spots & What To Know

Koh Samui is home to people of many different religions, however, the majority are Buddhist. Therefore, you’ll come across a wonderful array of Buddhist temples, wats, and pagodas. Of course, the law and cultural expectations are very different in Thailand.

Tourists are advised to read up before arriving to have an idea about the island’s culture and up-to-date travel information. Some of these tourist guide brochures have detailed maps, travel advice, laws and discounts.

Staying at Chaweng Beach or Koh Phangan is often a great choice for backpackers, and couples and those looking for a family-friendly venue can check out the Lamai beach and Bophut areas. As each of these towns offer regular shuttles and plenty of transport options, you can easily access all prime locations in Koh Samui within a short drive.
