Na Muang

Na Muang is a charming lush area in the heart of Samui.

It’s a popular place for families, but its famous waterfalls are proof that there is so much more to the island than the beautiful beaches that it’s known for.

Na Muang Accommodation, Beach Resorts, Hotels, Villas & Retreats

There are two waterfalls here; one is known as the Purple Waterfalls, which is among the most spectacular here. They are named so because of the unique purple colour of its rocks. The small natural pool at its base is an excellent place for adults and kids to swim in, providing respite from the humid weather.

The waterfalls are set within the dense verdant jungle and are easily accessibly just by walking off the main ring road. Along the way, several vendors offer refreshments and snacks that can be enjoyed by the falls. If you’re fit, the falls can be reached by foot. However, be careful since the trail leading to the waterfalls can be slippery in certain places. It’s best to wear shoes with a good grip to prevent sliding. The second falls can only be reached by trekking the jungle or by taking a trek with an elephant.

Between the two falls, the Na Muang Safari Park is also worth visiting while you’re here. This is where you can book trekking trips with the majestic elephants, touring the most popular attractions of the islands, and even going on exciting excursions on a 4×4. They offer full-day and half-day adventures that are sure to thrill visitors of all ages. They also offer relaxation packages, most of which are already inclusive of food and refreshments.

If you’d like to explore what the island has to offer away from beaches and islands, this part of Koh Samui is highly recommended. All you need is one day from your itinerary to enjoy the best of Na Muang.
