There are several ports designed to take travellers to a variety of nearby islands and towns.

The Bang Rak Pier, also known as the Seatran Bangrak Pier, is conveniently located near the Samui Airport. This makes it easy for visitors who want to be transported right after arrival. The Bang Rak Pier services the Seatran Discovery ferry’s routes that can take you to many of the best beaches in Koh Samui such as Chaweng and Lamai.

The Nathon Pier is the main ferry port of Koh Samui. Located in the capital town, Nathon Pier has three jetties. The northern jetty caters to the Seatran Discovery company, the central ferry terminal is for the Lomprayah ferries, while the southern jetty caters to the Thai longtail boats and fishing boats. It’s also ideal for situating yourself in one of the many hotels near Nathon Pier if your itinerary includes island-hopping around Koh Samui.

The Maenam Pier ferry terminals services boat transfers to and from Koh Tao in the Surat Thani mainland and Koh Phangan. This is where you can find several fast catamaran boat transfers to take you to the many beaches nearby. Aside from transfers, the Maenam Pier also caters to visitors going on snorkelling day trips.

The Thong Sala Pier is a great jump-off point for visiting nearby islands. It gets very busy, especially around the Full Moon season, as the islands come alive with these legendary parties. But near the Thong Sala Pier are numerous charming accommodation and great beaches that are also worth discovering.

Other ferry terminals near Koh Samui include Chaloklum Pier and Mae Haad Pier. All the terminals are busy throughout the year, especially during the peak season, but they are also equipped with modern conveniences such as waiting rooms, ATM’s, and shops. It is always advisable to book your tickets ahead of time.
