Baan Tai

Baan Tai is renowned for being one of the most beautiful beaches in Koh Phangan.

It is also one of the longest beaches in Koh Phangan, with a coastline that is 5 kilometres long.

It links Thong Sala, the main town, with the famous Full Moon Party area of Haad Rin. There are several accommodation options in the area to accommodate everyone from backpacking tourists to those seeking luxurious stays. This is the ideal area to relax in after partying at Haad Rin.

A busy highway between the mountains and the sea has become an important commerce centre over the last few years. Almost anything you could need during your trip, you will find it in the busy areas flanking the highway. However, the good news is that it’s far enough from the sea, so you can be assured serenity when relaxing at the beachfront areas.

If you intend to spend some time in Baan Tai especially around the Full Moon Party season, it’s always recommended to book months in advance. There are only a handful of beachfront resorts here, while the rest are concentrated in the back beaches. The best way to get around is by renting a bicycle, so be sure to take your time as you explore its stunning beaches and take in the tropical atmosphere.

Baan Tai is also home to many ex-pats and travellers who have made it their home, unable to resist its beauty and the warm hospitality of locals. If you find that it calls you to stay longer than a few days, you’ll be surprised at the number of affordable monthly rentals available here.

Life here is laid-back, but all the amenities and modern conveniences you need for a comfortable stay are found in Baan Tai.
