Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach

Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach

Thong Nai Pan Noi makes up half of the twin coves on the northeast of Koh Phangan. The other is called Thong Nai Pan Yai.

Together, these beautiful coves form part of a stunning beach known for its hippy, laid-back vibe and relaxing atmosphere.

To get there, you’ll need to come from Thong Sala, which is the primary port of the island. Hail a taxi, or hitch a ride on a pickup truck; the road is somewhat bumpy, but it will be a fun part of the journey. The other option is more expensive: taking a speedboat from Chaloklum or Had Rin directly to the coves. The entire trip takes around 45 minutes.

The beachfront area is abundant with cheap accommodation, and a handful of midrange hotel options as well. Throughout the beach, there are many excellent dining choices, as well as bars, where you can enjoy drinks while taking in spectacular beach views. There are also many areas to relax in or get a massage. If you’d like to do some simple shopping, you’ll also find a few boutiques selling colourful clothing and accessories.

There is some nightlife here although it’s not as diverse or lively as the rest of Koh Phangan. Still, there are lots to do once the sun goes down. Many beachfront restaurants and bars start playing dance music in the early evening, and there is the occasional live band as well. No matter where you end up going, you’ll love the fun hippy vibes of this area.

The scenic beach isn’t just pretty to look at; the absence of coral reef on the east make it ideal for swimming all year round. Compared to its twin counterpart, Thong Nai Pan Noi is more popular and loved for its bohemian vibes.

Wake up at the crack of dawn to witness the spectacular sunrise and sip some local coffee to start your day.
